| President Hou Weigui said on Thursday that the company is currently focusing on an organic growth in the short run, and has no intention to conduct any acquisitions.
Hou told reporters during an interview that ZTE has no plan to either buy Motorola's handsets business or Nortel Network Corp's technology operations.
He added the company has conducted several small-scale acquisitions, but is not financially strong enough to acquire large-sized company, such as Motorola.
Separately, ZTE announced yesterday it has sold a record high of 100 million handsets over the past six years, becoming one of the most formidable phone manufacturers in China as well as the overseas market.
Hou said he attributed the outstanding achievement to its advance telecom technologies and expertise, adding the company will continuously play a significant role in the global market in the next five years.
